GEORGES DESARMES

Born in Port-au-Prince in 1950 and began painting in 1969. An accomplished painter in the Impressionistic style with a fine palette of color. With a note of humor and compassion he painted those he kept company with – all sorts of people. His figures, at once dignified and dislocated, exemplify the fundamental values of the Haitian soul.
