JASMIN JOSEPH

Born in 1924 in Grande Riviere du Nord. Moved to Port-au-Prince and became a brickworker. Started making clay figures. Was commissioned to make a choir screen of clay for the Episcopal Cathedral of Holy Trinity. He began painting and became a Protestant preacher. Used animals to convey the morals in his sermons, and finally became an animal painter of great genius.
